For the longest time I’ve thought that Franchising needed more regulation, licensing, and governance. This is particularly true with those on the periphery of franchising in terms of service and match making. Through my membership with the American Association of Franchisees and Dealers AAFD.ORG I came across this article concerning just that subject. It’s a smart read and lays to rest the notion that Franchising is “Heavily Regulated”. Not attempting to indict Franchising at all but think it’s vitally important that given the the industry growth it is high time to understand how the term “regulation” is spun so that REAL reform and regulation can find its way through law making interested representatives.  Here’s the story posted on the AAFD website:
